The MT9V033 is high-performance wide-VGA image sensor for surveillance camera applications. Available in both color and monochrome versions, it features extremely high dynamic range (HDR), which is important for capturing clear images and video in high-contrast lighting conditions.
The wide-VGA format (720 by 480) is ideal for capturing a wide field of view, and its high speed video capabilites (up to 60 fps at full res.) deliver crisp video detail. Equally important for producing clear video is the sensor’s start-of-the-art shutter control, established using Aptina’s proprietary TrueSNAP™ technology, which reduces image smearing and tearing when capturing fast-moving objects. The 1/3-inch form factor matches the popular standard for video surveillance applications.
The sensor also offers two other notable features:
- Context switching: allowing two applications with separate imaging needs to run effectively from a single source.
- Enhanced near-infra-red (NIR): especially useful in low-light situations
