Aptina Technologies Named Golden Mousetrap Finalists by Design News
San Jose, CA, April 6, 2011 —
Aptina today announced that its dynamic response (DR) pixel technology, called Aptina™ DR-Pix™ technology, and Aptina™ MobileHDR™ technology for enhancing dynamic range were named finalists in the 2011 Design News Golden Mousetrap Best Products contest.
Aptina’s DR-Pix technology was recognized for its ability to deliver maximum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) across all scene lighting and ISO speed conditions. Aptina MobileHDR technology makes it possible for image sensors used in mobile cameras to cost-effectively capture natural high-range scenes, providing a leap forward in image quality.
"The products highlighted in this year’s Golden Mousetrap winners and finalists clearly demonstrate both cutting-edge design ideas and the practical evolution of technologies for systems and product design engineers,” said David Greenfield, Editorial Director for Design News. “Design News congratulates all the engineers and their companies who have been recognized, and we are grateful for their contribution to this year’s competition."
“We are honored to be recognized as a finalist in Design News’ 2011 Golden Mousetrap awards,” said Bob Gove, President and CTO at Aptina. “Aptina’s investment in new technologies like DR-Pix and MobileHDR address the hard engineering problems while rapidly delivering industry-leading performance and reliability.”
