Aptina Surveillance Image Sensor Receives Best Product Award from China's AET Magazine
San Jose, CA, December 12, 2011 —
Aptina, a leading provider of high performance image sensors for entry-level, mainstream and high-end surveillance camera makers, has received a Best Product Award from the China-based Application of Electronic Technique (AET) magazine for its AR0331 surveillance image sensor. The award was made in the Computer Peripherals category.
The winners of this year's awards were selected by the readers of AET, widely recognized as a leading electronics publication in China. AET has some 300,000 registered readers, and voting took place over a three-month period, both in print and online.
The 3.1-megapixel AR0331 image sensor was designed to meet the needs of a growing surveillance market segment that requires full HD video capture, enabled, in this case, by the exceptional performance of a 2.2-micron pixel sensor that utilizes Aptina™ A-Pix™ technology. In a mainstream 1/3-inch optical format, the AR0331 sensor provides surveillance camera manufacturers with an outstanding feature set that combines full HD video with a wide dynamic range (WDR) mode and adaptive local tone mapping.
The AR0331 image sensor provides HD video of up to 1080p at 60fps and employs advanced binning techniques to enable sub 1-lux low light performance. The sensor's low light and dynamic range capabilities enable a surveillance camera to capture HD video in the most challenging environments.
"Increasingly, the surveillance camera market is demanding a full HD video capability, and Aptina's versatile AR0331 surveillance imager delivers up to 1080p HD video at 60 frames per second, in low light or high contrast light conditions," said David Zimpfer, Vice President and General Manager of Aptina's Automotive Industrial Business Unit. "The China market has tremendous importance for Aptina, and we are honored that Application of Electronic Technique readers selected Aptina's AR0331 as a Best Product."
