Senior Technical Writer

Aptina Imaging is a division of Micron Technology. Aptina produces CMOS image sensors, image processors, and wafer level cameras for manufacturers of mobile phones, surveillance equipment, computers, automobiles, medical equipment, and more. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for producing timely, accurate, and user-friendly technical documents, including datasheets, developer guides and technical notes. Working closely with the application engineering team, you will be responsible for formatting and editing technical documents according to defined templates and style guides. You will also be responsible for creating illustrations and figures such as timing diagrams and block diagrams to clearly communicate product features and functions. You will ensure consistency across documents for a product or product family as well as coordinating the document review process across cross-functional groups.
Successful candidates for this position will:
- Have at least 5 years experience in technical writing or publications in the semiconductor or related technical fields.
- Be proficient with the following tools: Adobe Framemaker, Illustrator and Acrobat. Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio.
- Have a thorough grasp of English language grammar, punctuation, and composition
- Be a self starter and problem solver with excellent time management skills.
- Be able to work effectively with a globally dispersed engineering team
- Be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing and Product Design.
- Experience working within a DITA-based content management system is a plus.
- Have excellent presentation/writing skills as well as excellent organizational and communications skills.
Education:
BA/BS or equivalent foreign education. Five years post-baccalaureate industry experience required.
