Project Manager

Aptina Imaging is a division of Micron Technology. As a Project Manager at Aptina, you will act as a project manager focusing on system-on-chip CMOS image sensor technology. In this highly visible role within this product organization, you will be working with some of the industry’s most talented image processing and silicon process scientists refining group’s project management systems and practices to streamline the process of taking this cutting edge work into production.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive project planning sessions, developing WBS’s, creating responsibility matrix, securing buy-in of all parties…leading to project plan and Gantt Chart for work.
- Lead project status review meetings, monitoring milestone progress, identifying potential problems to project and addressing proactively with group.
- Manage proper resourcing of work throughout project including potential work with outside vendors and/or contractors.
- Enable seamless flow of work across organizations/departments.
- Ability to filter a continuous, complex flow of information, determine what is important and act upon it decisively.
- Able to recognize bottlenecks in critical path and fix before impacting schedule.
- Continuously assess, mitigate, and manage risk.
- Resolve issues/disconnects within teams. Track issues to closure.
- Facilitate communication between all project team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor and take corrective steps when project has deviated from schedule, scope, & cost.
- Evaluate projects at completion verifying deliverables are met.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- 3+ years of project management in chip design center environment and 5+ years of hardware and/or software design experience is typically required.
- Experience in digital chip design is required.
- Experience with firmware development and/or firmware/hardware integration is highly desirable.
- Experience in system architecture or imaging advantageous.
- Strong relationship building and people skills, negotiation skills and a pragmatic attitude are mandatory. Experienced in conflict resolution.
- PMI membership and certification desirable.
- Microsoft suite (particularly Project and Excel) proficient.
