Operations Manager - Assembly & Test

Aptina Imaging is a division of Micron Technology. As an Operations Manager in the Assembly and Test area at Aptina in San Jose, California, you will be responsible for new program start-up and monitoring ongoing program activities with a bias toward continuous improvement. You will be involved in tactical and strategic decision making, including subcontractor selection and management. You will be working closely with various teams on deploying internally developed technologies and developing new technologies externally with the goal of successfully integrating our subcontractor partners in the process. In doing so frequent interactions with the R&D, Design, Product Engineering, Finance, QA, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply Chain teams is required. This position will require frequent international travel.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- 8+ years of industry experience and with 5+ years focused on Assembly and/or Test manufacturing.
- Direct or indirect experience managing subcontractor activities.
- A high level of motivation, a goal-oriented personality, and the ability to execute under aggressive timelines.
- A track record of successfully driving continuous improvement activities.
- The ability to effectively work with others from various international and corporate cultures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
BS, MS, or PhD in an applicable technical discipline is required.
