Engineering Support Technician

Aptina Imaging is a division of Micron Technology. As an Engineering Support Technician at Aptina, you be responsible for supporting assembly, debug and testing of camera technology hardware. You will coordinate equipment ordering, component ordering, maintain test equipment calibrations, and assist engineering personnel with setup of optical experiments and data collection. You will maintain inventory, and assemble, troubleshoot, test, and debug prototype and completed designs.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- A minimum of 6 years experience as a technician with at least 2 years being directly in support of engineering efforts as an engineering technician.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and customers with urgent needs.
- Experience with test equipment, including but not limited to Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Meters, and Power Supplies.
- Excellent soldering skills (pitch 100) and be proficient in prototype assembly layout, and design, component knowledge, and component level trouble-shooting.
- Experience understanding schematics and layouts.
- Eagerness to learn about imaging, video, and optics.
- A valid CA driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- The following skills and experience are preferred but not required:
- Experience with automated test equipment for wafer level testing preferably with Teradyne testers.
- Experience with manual wafer probes’ and microprobing.
- Equipment ordering, maintaining test equipment calibrations, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting engineering personnel with setup of optical experiments and data collection experience.
Education:
AA or 2-year technical degree is required.
