Senior Buyer SW EDA

Aptina Imaging is a division of Micron Technology. As a Senior Buyer at Aptina’s San Jose headquarters, you will be responsible for the acquisition of all software, EDA tools, and commercial IP in support of Aptina’s development, product design, IS, and administrative efforts, ranging from simple shrink-wrap software license agreements for standard software to complex, multi-year corporate agreements for EDA software tools at significant cost. Working in partnership and close coordination with internal customer groups, finance, and legal, you will: participate in the budget and costing process; conduct business term negotiations; drive contract completion; oversee ongoing business relationship activities with vendors; handle maintenance, support, training, consulting, and services agreements; and issue PO’s and track delivery of assets.

 

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • BS degree with 10 years of related experience or 12 years of relevant experience. Previous experience at a semiconductor company strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of negotiating software license and intellectual property licensing agreements, including proposal analysis, business terms, licensing considerations, time value of money calculations, and supplier analysis and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to look beyond the obvious and to generate and work with a variety of what-if scenarios,
  • Outstanding team player skills, with a can do attitude and the ability to work successfully with various functional areas that have diverse needs and requirements
  • Demonstrated success in program management and cost containment programs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize several projects/agreements within aggressive time constraints.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems

 

Education:

BS degree with 10 years of related experience or 12 years of relevant experience.
